You can enjoy creative and truly delicious products, in a friendly atmosphere. In addition to pastries and coffee, you must try their bread products: it's the best baguette in town in our opinion!

Can you share a particular anecdote or memory:

Christophe's is the perfect outing for young parents who need to savor their hot coffee in a beautiful place! We often went there with our baby for the simple pleasure of getting out of the house. Over time, it became a special little ritual for the children when we go downtown: today, our eldest loves to order his little hot milk (sprinkled with colorful candies) and his cake pop. On summer Saturdays, we combine this outing with a visit to the Vieux Sorel Market, a local farmers market held in the park just across the street. On less clement weather days, we follow up with a visit to the Survenant library, where children can stretch their legs and enjoy the beautiful play and reading spaces in the basement (which is entirely dedicated to them).

What makes this place extraordinary or unique:

This small family-owned business offers authentic Mexican cuisine, in addition to Quebec diner classics; something for everyone. The atmosphere is friendly and children feel welcome. The tacos and al pastor burritos are our family's favorites.

We love eating in, but also taking a meal to go for a picnic at Dorimène-Desjardins Park and enjoying the water games for the children.

What makes this place extraordinary or unique:

It's one of our favorite outdoor destinations. Starting from the Sorel-Tracy entrance, we enjoy hiking the trails with the kids. These trails are very accessible, perfect for introducing young children to hiking and observing wildlife. One of them is even paved, making it stroller-friendly. We also like going to the Savoyane observatory, which offers a great view of the pond. In winter, we explore the forest on a sled or cross-country skis. From the Contrecoeur entrance, we particularly enjoy the obstacle course and the tube slides in winter.

Can you share a particular anecdote or memory :

Our family is very fond of the Parc régional des Grèves, where we have held several family and friends gatherings over the years, thanks to the rental of rooms and chalets.

This museum is a must-see to discover the richness of biodiversity, culture, and regional history. The permanent exhibitions are beautiful and captivate both young and old, allowing them to observe, manipulate, and listen to learn about the heritage of Sorel and its islands. The Biophare also offers zodiac boat trips to explore the Saint Lawrence River Biosphere Reserve with a guide-captain, an experience not to be missed! (7 years and older).

We like to combine a trip to the Biophare with a visit to Regard sur le Fleuve Park. The park's playground is right next to the museum.

A family-owned business for three generations, this store is a true institution in downtown Sorel! We love to browse for books, of course, but also for their impressive selection of toys and games of all kinds. It's definitely a visit that makes the eyes of young and old shine. The board game section alone is worth mentioning: you'll find the latest releases, but above all, precise and personalized advice that allows us to truly discover our next favorite.
